John 10:10;
KJV, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Colossians 3:4; MSG, When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ.
Philippians 1:21 TPT, My true life is the Anointed One, and dying means gaining more of him.
In the Christian life, Christ is not just our Savior; He is our very life. In John 10:10, Jesus declares, “I have come that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” This life is not merely biological life, but the divine, eternal life of God Himself. Christ, as life, is the foundation of all that we are and do as believers. He is the essence of our new creation and the power that enables us to live for God’s glory.
The life we receive from Christ is not only for us to live, but also to be expressed in the church. Christ, as the very life of the church, enables the corporate expression of God’s will. This life is the source of every activity in the church, from worship to service, and it is through the life of Christ that the church is built.
In our teachings we expound that the church is a living organism, not merely a structure. The church is constituted of living stones, and it is Christ as life that unites us together. Without Christ’s life as our source, the church would have no reality or power.
As we are rooted and grounded in Christ’s life, we experience growth, both individually and corporately. This growth is not by our natural ability but by the life of Christ working within us. We must learn to abide in Him, allowing His life to flow freely through us, so that we can experience His fullness and bear much fruit.
Thought of the day/Main points – Christ is the foundation and source of our Christian life.
– His life is abundant and eternal, offering us the fullness of God’s purpose.
– The church is built up through the life of Christ.
– Living by Christ’s life is essential for growth and fruit-bearing.
Prayer Confessions:
Lord, thank You for being my life. I open my heart to You to experience Your life anew today.
I pray that Your life would flow freely through me and become the source of all my thoughts, actions, and relationships.
Lord, help me to live out Your life in the church and participate in building up Your Body. Amen
