The Power Over Darkness

Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

📖 Devotional Message

The Reflection: The believer is not a victim of spiritual forces, but an authorized representative of the Kingdom. Christ has granted us “power” (authority) over the “enemy.” This authority is based on His victory, not our strength. “Serpents and scorpions” represent the various stings and deceptions of the adversary. We “tread” on them by standing in the finished work of Christ. When we are centered in the Spirit, we are protected; the “harm” the enemy intends cannot penetrate the life that is hid with Christ in God.

Practical Application: If you feel under spiritual attack or heavy pressure, speak the Word. Remind yourself (and the enemy) that you have been given authority in Christ to overcome this pressure.

LUGANDA:

Okufumiitiriza: Omukkiriza si mukosefu wa maanyi ga mwoyo, wabula omukiise ow’Obwakabaka akkirizibwa. Kristo atuwadde “amaanyi” (obuyinza) ku “mulabe.” Obuyinza buno bwesigamiziddwa ku buwanguzi bwe, so si maanyi gaffe. “Emisota n’enjaba” zikiikirira okulumwa n’obulimba obw’enjawulo obw’omulabe. Tu “birinnya” nga tuyimirira mu mulimu gwa Kristo oguwedde. Bwe twesigama mu Mwoyo, tukuumibwa; “obulabe” omulabe bw’agenderera tebusobola kuyingira mu bulamu obukwese ne Kristo mu Katonda.

Okukozesa mu ngeri ey’omugaso: Bw’oba owulira ng’olumbiddwa mu by’omwoyo oba ng’olina okunyigirizibwa okw’amaanyi, yogera Ekigambo. Wejjukize (n’omulabe) nti oweereddwa obuyinza mu Kristo okuvvuunuka okunyigirizibwa kuno.
