Devotional 265: Noah—A Comfort for Mankind

Genesis 5:28–32; Genesis 6:8–9; 2 Peter 2:5; Matthew 24:37–39

Lamech named his son Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands.” Noah was born in a corrupt generation but found grace in God’s sight.

Experiencing Christ Commentary points out that Noah is a type of Christ—the One who brings comfort and rest to mankind under the curse. 

Noah became a preacher of righteousness, standing against a corrupt age. His birth was a sign of God’s continuing purpose in the line of life.
