Experiencing Christ

Loving God, the Indispensable Requirement

Rom 8:28  So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.
1Co 2:9  This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine—these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers.

God does not alter things; He changes your heart. If you love God, then all things, though unaltered, will work for your good. Sometimes you complain about everything that comes your way. You complain concerning this and concerning that. Yet if love is there, all these will mean nothing to you. Loving God will make an unsatisfactory environment a profitable one.
To realize and participate in the deep and hidden things God has ordained and prepared for us requires us not only to believe in Him but also to love Him. To fear God, to worship God, and to believe in God (that is, to receive God) are all inadequate; to love Him is the indispensable requirement. To love God means to set our entire being–spirit, soul, and body, with the heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30)– absolutely on Him, that is, to let our entire being be occupied by Him and lost in Him, so that He becomes everything to us and we are one with Him practically in our daily life. In this way we have the closest and most intimate fellowship with God, and we are able to enter into His heart and apprehend all its secrets. Thus, we not only realize but also experience, enjoy, and fully participate in these deep and hidden things of God.

Thought of the Day:

God does not alter things; He changes your heart. If you love God, then all things, though unaltered, will work for your good. To realize & participate in the deep & hidden things God has ordained & prepared for us requires us not only to believe in Him but also to love Him. To love Him is the indispensable requirement. To love God means to set our entire being–spirit, soul, & body, with the heart, soul, mind, & strength on Him.

Prayer Confession:

Oh Lord, i pray that you daily change my heart because i love you. may i daily love you with my entire being, so that everything works out for my Good.
