Genesis 3:22–24; Hebrews 10:19–20; Revelation 22:14; John 14:6
God sent man out of Eden and placed cherubim with a flaming sword to guard the way to the Tree of Life. This shows that sin separates man from God’s presence and life. The way back is closed by God’s righteousness and holiness.
Yet in Christ, the way to the Tree of Life has been reopened. Hebrews 10:19–20 declares that through the blood of Jesus we have boldness to enter the Holy of Holies by a new and living way. Revelation 22:14 promises that those who wash their robes have the right to the Tree of Life. Christ Himself is the way (John 14:6).
Main Points:
- Sin barred the way to the Tree of Life.
- God’s holiness guards His life from sinful man.
- Christ reopened the way through His blood and cross.
- The right to the Tree of Life is restored in eternity.
