Genesis 3:9–13; Proverbs 28:13; Romans 14:12; 1 John 1:9
God called to Adam, “Where are you?” revealing His heart to restore fellowship. But Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent. This shows man’s tendency to excuse himself rather than confess sin.
Proverbs 28:13 declares, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Romans 14:12 reminds us each will give an account to God. The only way back is to confess our sins (1 John 1:9).
Main Points:
- God calls man to accountability in love, not condemnation.
- Excuses and blame-shifting only deepen separation.
- Confession and repentance bring forgiveness and restoration.
