Genesis 3:7–8; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2; Luke 19:10
After eating the fruit, the eyes of Adam and Eve were opened, and they knew they were naked. They sewed fig leaves to cover themselves and hid from God’s presence. This reveals the immediate results of sin: shame, self-effort, and separation from God.
Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. Isaiah 59:2 explains that sin separates us from God. Yet God’s heart of love still seeks man—Luke 19:10 declares that Christ came to seek and save the lost.
Main Points:
- Sin brings shame, guilt, and separation from God.
- Human coverings (fig leaves) cannot deal with sin.
- God Himself comes to seek fallen man.
