Genesis 2:7; Job 33:4; 1 Corinthians 15:45–49; 2 Corinthians 4:7
God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. This reveals both man’s lowly origin and his noble destiny. Outwardly, man is dust—fragile and mortal. Yet inwardly, God imparted His breath, giving man the capacity to contain and express Him.
Job 33:4 declares, “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” 1 Corinthians 15:45–49 shows the contrast between Adam, the living soul, and Christ, the life-giving Spirit. 2 Corinthians 4:7 reminds us that we are earthen vessels containing the treasure of Christ.
Thus, man is both humble in his origin and glorious in his destiny—formed of dust but destined to contain the divine life.

- Man was formed from dust, signifying humility and weakness.
