Genesis 7:13–24; Psalm 29:10; Romans 6:4; Colossians 3:1–3
On the very day judgment began, Noah, his family, and the animals entered the ark. The waters rose and covered the mountains, but the ark was lifted up above the waters and floated safely. All outside the ark perished.
Experiencing Christ Commentary emphasizes that the ark being lifted up prefigures Christ’s resurrection life. The waters of judgment buried the old world, but the ark rose above them, carrying those inside into newness of life.
This is our experience in Christ: we were buried with Him under judgment, but raised with Him in resurrection to live above death.
Main Points:
- All outside the ark perished; only those inside were saved.
- The ark rising above waters typifies Christ’s resurrection life.
- In Christ, we are carried safely above judgment into new creation.
