Devotional 273: God’s Covenant with Noah

Genesis 6:17–18; Hebrews 8:6; Isaiah 54:9–10; Matthew 26:28

God told Noah: “Behold, I Myself am bringing the flood of waters on the earth… but I will establish My covenant with you.” Judgment was coming to all flesh, but God guaranteed salvation to Noah through His covenant.

Experiencing Christ Commentary stresses that God’s government always operates by covenant. The covenant with Noah preserved life through the ark. This points to the new covenant established in Christ’s blood, which is far better (Heb. 8:6).

God’s covenant is His unchanging promise that preserves His people amid judgment and guarantees eternal salvation.

Main Points:

  • God’s covenant is His guarantee of salvation.
