Devotional 202: Abiding in the Anointing and the Overflow of God’s Life

When we abide in the anointing, the life of God within us overflows. Just as Jesus spoke of rivers of living water flowing from those who believe in Him, so the anointing causes God’s life to flow out of us to others. This overflow is not just for our benefit, but for the building up of the body of Christ and the spreading of God’s kingdom.

The overflow of God’s life occurs when we are so filled with the anointing that it cannot be contained. It spills over to those around us, bringing life, encouragement, and transformation. As we remain in the anointing, we become channels of God’s life to others. This flow of life not only enriches the church but also reaches out to the world, bringing others into the experience of God’s salvation and life.

In this way, abiding in the anointing is not just a private experience; it is meant to be a public testimony of God’s grace and love. The more we allow the anointing to flow through us, the more we become living testimonies of God’s life and His presence.

Main Points:

  • Overflow of God’s Life: The anointing causes God’s life to flow out of us, impacting others.
  • For the Building of the Body: This overflow builds up the body of Christ and strengthens the church.
  • Reaching the World: The anointing flowing through us also reaches the world, spreading the gospel.
  • A Public Testimony: Abiding in the anointing makes us living testimonies of God’s grace and life.

Reflection/Activity:

Consider how the overflow of God’s life is impacting those around you. Are there people you can bless with the life and love of God that has been poured into you? Spend time praying for the Lord to use you as a channel of His life to others.

Prayer Confessions:

Lord, thank You for filling me with Your life and enabling me to overflow with Your presence.

I pray that the life within me would flow to others, bringing life and encouragement.

May my life be a testimony of Your grace and love to those around me.

Lord, help me to be a vessel through which Your life flows freely to the body of Christ and to the world.

I pray that the overflow of Your life would cause many to come to know You and be transformed, Amen.
