Ephesians 4:16 “From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Abiding in the anointing leads to the mutual building of the church, where every believer contributes to the growth and edification of the body. The anointing within us is not just for our personal enjoyment, but it is meant to flow into the body of Christ. Each member of the church has a unique role to play in the building up of the body, and the anointing is the divine element that empowers us to fulfill our role.
When we are abiding in the anointing, we are enabled to minister to one another effectively. The anointing in us helps us to build up others in love, encouraging them and helping them grow in Christ. As we all contribute, the body grows in maturity and unity, and Christ is glorified in the church.
The mutual building of the church is not something we can do by our own strength or ability. It requires the Spirit’s anointing to equip us and enable us to serve. Therefore, as we abide in the anointing, we become effective members of the body, and through our individual contributions, we build up the entire church.
Main Points:
- Mutual Contribution: Each believer is called to contribute to the building up of the body of Christ.
- The Anointing as the Empowerment: The anointing enables us to serve and minister to others.
- Edifying in Love: As we abide in the anointing, we build up others in love and help them grow in Christ.
- Corporate Growth: The church grows as each member does their part in the Spirit’s anointing.
Reflection/Activity:
Reflect on how you are contributing to the building up of the body of Christ. How are you ministering to others in the church? Pray that the Lord would reveal new ways for you to serve and build up the church, through the power of the anointing.
Prayer Points:
Lord, thank You for the anointing that enables me to contribute to the growth and building up of the church.
Help me to be sensitive to Your Spirit, so I can effectively minister to those around me.
May my contribution to the body of Christ be an expression of Your love and life.
Strengthen our church, Lord, as we all work together in the anointing to edify one another.
I pray that the church would grow in maturity and unity, and that Christ would be glorified in us, Amen.
