Devotional 191: The Anointing and Our Spiritual Warfare

In the Christian life, we are engaged in spiritual warfare, but the anointing of the Holy Spirit is our strength and protection. The anointing empowers us to take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, and to use it effectively in our battles.

The enemy seeks to attack our minds, our hearts, and our actions, but the anointing keeps us strong in the face of opposition. It reminds us that we are not fighting in our own strength but with the life of Christ, which enables us to stand firm against every scheme of the enemy.

By abiding in the anointing, we are led by the Spirit to engage in spiritual warfare through prayer, the declaration of God’s Word, and the protection of the salvation we have received. The anointing assures us that victory is ours in Christ.

Main Points:

Spiritual Warfare: The Christian life is one of spiritual conflict.

– The Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God is empowered by the Spirit for battle.

– Strength in the Anointing: The Holy Spirit strengthens and protects us.

– Victory in Christ: Abiding in the anointing leads to spiritual victory.

Reflection/Activity:
Take time to reflect on the spiritual battles you are facing. Pray through areas where you need the Spirit’s anointing to stand firm and claim victory. Declare God’s Word over those battles, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Confessions:

Lord, thank You for the anointing that strengthens me in spiritual warfare.
