Deuteronomy 11:11-12;
[11] but the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: [12] a land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
Psalm 23:4;
[4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Philippians 4:11-12,
[11] Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. [12] I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
The good land is a land of hills and valleys, signifying the ups and downs of the Christian life. Hills represent the heights of spiritual victory, while valleys signify the low points where we learn to depend on the Lord. Both are necessary for our growth in life and our experience of Christ.
In Philippians 4:11-12, Paul testifies that he has learned to be content in all circumstances, whether abased or abounding. This is the reality of living in the good land. God uses both the hills and valleys in our lives to teach us to rely on Him and to experience His faithfulness in every situation.
Thought of the day/Main Points:
– The hills and valleys of the good land represent the varying experiences of the Christian life.
– Through both highs and lows, we are brought into a deeper dependence on Christ.
– Every situation is an opportunity to experience Christ as our sufficiency.

Lord, use both the highs and lows to transform us into Your image, Amen.
