Devotional 94: The Land of Wheat and Barley

In the good land, we see wheat and barley, which represent the provision and nourishment that Christ, as the bread of life, supplies to us. These elements provide for our daily sustenance and symbolize our constant dependence on Christ for spiritual life.

Wheat: The Body of Christ for Our Nourishment
The wheat signifies Christ as the living bread.
Just as bread is essential for physical life, Christ as the living bread is essential for our spiritual life.
Partaking of the bread of life continually nourishes our soul and strengthens us to live for God’s purpose.

Barley: The Humility of Christ for Our Transformation
Barley, often associated with the humbler side of life, symbolizes the humility of Christ.
Christ, as the humble grain of barley, enables us to experience His life and transformation in our humility.

The good land is filled with wheat and barley, which sustain us and remind us of the humility and nourishment Christ offers.
