Exodus 3:8
“So I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.”
1 Peter 2:2-3
“As newborn babes, long for the guileless milk of the word in order that by it you may grow unto salvation, if you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
The land flowing with milk and honey signifies the richness and sweetness of Christ as our life supply. Milk represents the nourishing and sustaining aspect of Christ, while honey signifies the sweetness and satisfaction we experience in Him.
As we partake of Christ through His Word, we receive the pure milk that causes us to grow in salvation. This milk strengthens and sustains us, providing the spiritual nutrients we need for maturity. The honey of Christ is tasted in moments of fellowship, worship, and enjoyment of His presence, leaving us deeply satisfied.
To experience Christ as the land flowing with milk and honey, we need to come to Him as newborn babes, laying aside all distractions and fully opening to receive Him. As we do so, we taste and see His goodness, growing in life and being built up into His Body.
