Joshua 1:3
“Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given to you, as I promised to Moses.”
Philippians 3:12
“Not that I have already obtained or am already perfected, but I pursue, if even I may lay hold of that for which I also have been laid hold of by Christ Jesus.”
When God brought the Israelites into the good land, He promised to give them every place their foot tread upon, yet they needed to labor and fight to take possession of it. This illustrates our need to labor and pursue Christ as our inheritance.
Treading Upon the Land: Every step represents claiming and enjoying Christ in a practical way. This happens as we walk by faith, daily appropriating His life and riches in all situations.
Laboring on the Land: Like the Israelites, we labor by digging into the Word, praying, and exercising our spirit to apply the truths we receive. This labor yields spiritual nourishment and growth.
Overcoming Obstacles: Just as the Israelites faced enemies in the land, we too encounter spiritual opposition. However, by standing on God’s promises and relying on the Spirit, we overcome and take possession of Christ.
As we labor and tread upon the land, the riches of Christ are not only for our personal supply but also for the building up of the Body. The more we possess and enjoy Christ, the more He gains ground in us and through us for His purpose.
Thought of the day/Main Points:
– Possessing Christ as the good land requires spiritual labor and perseverance.
– Faith and daily application enable us to lay hold of Christ’s riches.
– Spiritual obstacles allows us to take full possession of our inheritance.
– The enjoyment of Christ builds up His Body for God’s eternal purpose.
Prayer Confessions:

Strengthen me to overcome every obstacle and opposition that hinders my enjoyment of You.
Build me up in the Body as I partake of You as the all-inclusive good land.
Gain more ground in me, Lord, for Your purpose and testimony, Amen.
