John 14:17: “Even the Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him; but you know Him, because He abides with you and shall be in you.”
John 6:63: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”
Romans 8:10: “But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because of righteousness.”
The Spirit is the reality of Christ’s life within us. John 14:17 describes Him as the Spirit of reality who dwells with us and in us. This Spirit makes everything of Christ real to us in our daily living.
John 6:63 reveals the life-giving function of the Spirit. Christ’s words are not just doctrines or teachings—they are spirit and life. When we receive these words through the Spirit, they impart divine life into us, sustaining and strengthening our inner being.
Romans 8:10 shows that the Spirit brings life even to our mortal bodies. Though the body is subject to sin and death, the indwelling Spirit continually imparts life, enabling us to live in righteousness and in union with Christ.
Living by the Spirit as the reality of Christ’s life involves daily fellowship with Him. It means setting our mind on the Spirit (Rom. 8:6), praying in the Spirit (Eph. 6:18), and being filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18).
As we live this way, the Spirit reveals more of Christ to us, transforming us into His image and empowering us to walk according to His purpose.
