Devotional 65: Living Out the New State in Christ – A Life of Transformation

The transition from the old state to the new state in Christ is not a one-time event but an ongoing process of transformation. When we are baptized, we are brought into a new realm of living, but we must continue to live according to this new realm, undergoing a continuous transformation by the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18 reveals the nature of this transformation: it is a gradual process in which we are changed from glory to glory. As we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into His image. This transformation is the work of the Spirit, who gradually conforms us to the likeness of Christ.

Romans 8:2 shows that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets us free from the law of sin and death. As we live in Christ, this law of the Spirit becomes our new governing principle, replacing the old, natural law of sin. In this new life, we experience true freedom, a freedom that enables us to live according to God’s will.

Philippians 3:21 speaks of the ultimate transformation, where our bodies will be conformed to the body of Christ’s glory. This final transformation is the culmination of our ongoing spiritual transformation, where we are fully redeemed and conformed to Christ’s glorious image.
