Romans 6:4: “We have been buried therefore with Him through baptism into His death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we might walk in newness of life.”
Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.”
The spiritual reality of baptism marks a significant transformation in the believer’s life. Baptism represents not just a change in position but a total reconstitution of our very being. It brings us out of our old state, which was dominated by the natural, fleshly life, and into a new realm of living—the realm of the Triune God.
In the old state, we were governed by our natural desires, emotions, and thoughts, which were fallen and corrupt. But through the work of baptism, the old life is terminated—this natural life no longer has dominion over us. As Romans 6:4 points out, we are buried with Christ through baptism, and our old life is left behind, buried in the waters.
In contrast, we enter into the new state, which is germinated by the divine life. This new life is not something we can generate on our own; it is the very life of Christ, infused with the elements of the Triune God—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. This new life enables us to live not for ourselves but for the Body of Christ, the living organism that expresses Christ in the world.
Living in this new state involves being nourished by the elements of the Triune God. Just as a tree is nourished by water, sunlight, and soil, we are nourished by the elements of God—the Father’s love, the Son’s redemption, and the Spirit’s power.
As we live by these elements, we are not only transformed inwardly but also brought into a corporate life—living for the Body of Christ.
Thoughts of the day/Main Points:

– The old state, dominated by the flesh, is terminated through the death of Christ.
– A new life, germinated by the Triune God’s elements, replaces the old life.
– This new life enables us to live not for ourselves but for the Body of Christ.
– The divine elements of the Father, Son, and Spirit nourish and empower us in this new life.
Prayer Confessions:
Lord, thank You for terminating the old life in me through Your death.
I open my heart to be nourished and filled with the divine elements of the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Let Your life flow through me, so I may live for the Body of Christ and not for myself.
Thank You, Lord, for making me a new creation—thank You for the reality of the new life in me.
Strengthen me to live according to the new realm You have brought me into, for the expression of Your Body.
