Devotional 60: Putting On Christ and Living in His Identity

To put on Christ is to live in His identity and reality. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reveals that in Christ, we are new creations, with the old life terminated and a new life begun/germinated. This new creation is not a product of self-improvement but a result of being in Christ.

Ephesians 4:24 calls us to put on the new man, which is created according to God. This new man is righteous and holy, expressing the reality of God’s divine nature. By faith, we embrace this new identity and live in the reality of being united with Christ.

Philippians 3:9 emphasizes being found in Christ, not relying on our own righteousness but on the righteousness of God through faith. This means living a life that reflects Christ’s righteousness, holiness, and truth, putting aside self-effort and fully identifying with Christ.
