John 14:17: “Even the Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him; but you know Him, because He abides with you and shall be in you.”
John 16:13: “But when He, the Spirit of reality, comes, He will guide you into all the reality.”
Galatians 5:16: “But I say, Walk by the Spirit and you shall by no means fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
The Spirit is the reality of Christ. John 14:17 calls Him the Spirit of reality, who abides in us to make Christ real and experiential in our lives. Without the Spirit, Christ would remain a doctrine or a historical figure to us, but through the Spirit, He becomes our life and our everything.
John 16:13 assures us that the Spirit guides us into all reality. This includes the reality of Christ’s Person, His work, and His life within us. As we walk by the Spirit, as in Galatians 5:16, we experience the fullness of Christ and are empowered to live according to God’s purpose.
The Spirit’s indwelling is the key to living a victorious Christian life. By yielding to the Spirit and allowing Him to lead us, we experience Christ as the Spirit of reality in every aspect of our being.
