John 16:13: “But when He, the Spirit of reality, comes, He will guide you into all the reality; for He will not speak from Himself, but what He hears He will speak; and He will declare to you the things that are coming.”
1 John 5:6: “And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the reality.”
John 14:16-17: “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever, even the Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive.”
The Spirit is the reality of Christ, making all that Christ is and has accomplished real to us. John 16:13 calls Him the Spirit of reality, who guides us into all the reality of the truth. Without the Spirit, Christ would remain merely doctrinal to us, but through the Spirit, we experience Him in a living and practical way.
In John 14:16-17, Jesus promised the Spirit as the Comforter who dwells within us. This indwelling Spirit is the reality of Christ in us, testifying of Him and applying His riches to our daily lives.
As we walk according to the Spirit, we experience Christ as life, light, grace, and truth. The Spirit reveals Christ to us in the Word and leads us into deeper fellowship with God. By living in the Spirit, we are built up as His Body and prepared for His return.
