Devotional 53: Christ as Our Faith

Faith is not something we produce; it is Christ Himself as the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Galatians 2:20 reveals that the faith we live by is not even ours, it is the faith of the Son of God. Christ’s faith has been imparted to us, enabling us to believe in and live by Him.

This faith grows as we focus on Christ. Walking by faith, as in 2 Corinthians 5:7, means looking away from ourselves and our circumstances and looking unto Jesus. Faith comes from hearing the word of Christ (Romans 10:17), and as we stay in the Word, the Spirit strengthens our faith.

To experience Christ as our faith, we must abide in Him, receive His Word, and exercise our spirit to live by His life. In doing so, our faith will be perfected, and we will advance in our journey to fulfill God’s purpose.

Impart more of Your faith to me, that I may live for Your purpose.
Perfect my faith and prepare me for the fulfillment of Your plan.
