Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
To live the Christian life is to live the crucified life. The foundation of the Christian walk is the death of Christ, and we are called to live by His crucifixion.
The crucified life is not one of self-effort or moral striving, but a life in which we reckon ourselves as crucified with Christ, allowing His death to terminate our old life and its natural desires. This crucifixion brings us into a new realm of living, one where the power of the resurrection can operate.
The crucified life involves identifying with Christ in His death, denying the flesh, and presenting ourselves as living sacrifices to God.
To live the crucified life:
1.Recognize that your old self was crucified with Christ (Romans 6:6).
2.Deny the flesh and its desires daily (Luke 9:23).
3.Offer yourself to God as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1).
Main Points:
– Union with Christ in His Death: We are crucified with Him.
– The Termination of the Old Life: The crucifixion puts an end to our old nature.
– Living by His Resurrection Life: His resurrection empowers us for a victorious Christian walk.
Prayer Confessions:
Lord, let me experience the power of Your crucifixion in my daily life.
Help me to deny my flesh and live by the reality of Your death.
Make me a living sacrifice, wholly surrendered to You, Amen.
