John 6:35, “Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.'”
The good land in the Old Testament is described as a land of wheat and barley (Deuteronomy 8:8), which signify Christ as the bread of life. As wheat, Christ is the food that satisfies us, and as barley, He is the resurrected life that strengthens us.
Eating Christ as the bread of life is not merely a doctrinal concept but a daily experience. We partake of Him through His Word, prayer, and fellowship in the Body. As we eat of Christ, we are inwardly supplied and enabled to live a victorious Christian life.
To eat Christ as the bread of life:
1.Come to Him daily in the Word and prayer (Matthew 4:4).
2.Fellowship with Him and with other believers in the breaking of bread (Acts 2:42).
3.Trust Him as your satisfaction and source of strength.
Main Points:
– Wheat and Barley in the Good Land: Christ is the bread of life and the resurrected life.
– Daily Feeding on Christ: Eating Him satisfies our hunger and strengthens our spirit.
– Building Through Eating: Eating Christ nourishes us for the building of the church.
Prayer Points:
Lord, feed me daily as the bread of life.
Satisfy my hunger and strengthen me with Your resurrection life.
Build up the church through our eating and enjoyment of You, Amen.
