John 7:37-39;
[37] In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. [38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Isaiah 12:3;
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Revelation 22:1-2
[1] And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. [2] In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
The good land is abundant with living waters, symbolizing the Spirit as our inward supply. In John 7:37-39, Jesus speaks of rivers of living water flowing from within those who believe in Him. These living waters are the Spirit, who refreshes and empowers us for our Christian walk.
Drawing water from the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3) is a daily practice, allowing the Spirit to flow freely in and through us. The living waters also point to the river of life in the New Jerusalem, demonstrating the eternal and satisfying nature of the Spirit’s supply.
Main Points:
– Living waters represent the Spirit as our inward supply.
– Drinking of the Spirit refreshes and empowers us daily.
– The living waters flow eternally, satisfying us and leading us to God’s ultimate purpose.
