Devotional 287: God’s Command to Leave the Ark

Genesis 8:15–19; John 10:3–4; Matthew 28:19; Philippians 1:6

God spoke to Noah, commanding him, his family, and the animals to leave the ark. They were to be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth again.

Experiencing Christ Commentary emphasizes that salvation does not end with preservation but continues with commission.

Just as Noah was brought out of the ark to a new earth, so believers are brought out of death into resurrection life for God’s purpose. The God who preserves us also sends us forth to be fruitful and multiply spiritually.

Main Points:

  • God’s salvation includes preservation and commission.
  • Leaving the ark signifies entering a new life and mission.
  • Believers are called to fruitfulness and increase in Christ.

Cross References:

  • John 10:3–4 – The Shepherd calls His sheep out.
  • Matthew 28:19 – Go therefore and make disciples.
  • Philippians 1:6 – He who began a good work will complete it.
  • John 15:16 – Chosen to bear fruit that remains.
  • Acts 1:8 – You shall be My witnesses.

Prayer Points:

Lord, thank You for bringing me into new life.

Send me out to fulfill Your commission.

Lord, make me fruitful in Christ.

Preserve me as I walk in Your purpose.

Keep me faithful until You finish Your work in me, Amen.
