Devotional 236: The Garden of Eden—A Place of Life

Genesis 2:8–9; Ezekiel 28:13; Revelation 22:1–2; John 10:10

The Lord God planted a garden in Eden, placing man there with the Tree of Life at the center. The Garden of Eden was not just a place of beauty but a place of divine life and fellowship. The Tree of Life signifies Christ as God’s provision of eternal life for man (John 10:10).

Ezekiel 28:13 reveals Eden as the place where God’s glory was manifested, while Revelation 22:1–2 shows the Tree of Life flourishing in the New Jerusalem, bearing fruit continually.

God’s purpose is not merely that man would live in a pleasant environment but that man would partake of Christ as life to fulfill God’s eternal plan.

Main Points:

  • Eden was planted by God as a place of life and fellowship.
  • The Tree of Life signifies Christ as man’s life and satisfaction.
  • God’s intention is that man would receive and live by His life.
