Ephesians 4:3 “Being diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace.”
The oneness of the Spirit is a precious reality in the Body of Christ. However, this oneness must be kept diligently through the uniting bond of peace. Peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of Christ as our peace.
In the church life, peace is the glue that holds us together. Without peace, there can be no proper function or building in the Body. Peace allows the life of Christ to flow freely among the members, fostering growth and harmony.
To maintain peace, we must deny the self, take up the cross, and live by the Spirit. Self-interest and personal agendas must be set aside for the sake of the Body.
When we walk in the Spirit and pursue peace with one another, the church becomes a testimony of God’s life and love.
Main Points:
– Oneness of the Spirit: Peace is essential for maintaining the oneness of the Spirit.
– Christ as Peace: True peace comes from Christ, who is our peace.
– Diligence Required: Keeping peace requires self-denial and walking in the Spirit.
– Testimony of the Church: Peace in the church glorifies God and testifies of His life.
