John 6:35; KJV
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:57; KJV
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
Matthew 4:4, KJV
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
In John 6:35, Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” Christ as the bread of life satisfies our spiritual hunger and sustains us daily.
We always explain that just as physical bread nourishes the body, Christ nourishes our inner man. In John 6:57, Jesus says, “He who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me.” This means that we live spiritually by receiving and enjoying Christ as our life supply.
Feeding on Christ requires spending time in His Word, prayer, and fellowship. Matthew 4:4 reminds us that “man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God.” By partaking of Christ as the living bread, we are sustained, strengthened, and satisfied in our spiritual journey.
