1 Corinthians 1:30; KJV
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Romans 3:21-22; KJV
[21] But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; [22] even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Philippians 3:9, KJV
[9] and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
1 Corinthians 1:30 says, “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God: both righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” As believers, Christ Himself is our righteousness, not merely a concept or an attribute we possess.
We always emphasize that righteousness is God’s requirement and Christ’s provision.
In Romans 3:21-22, we see that righteousness is manifested apart from the law and is received through faith in Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:9 further confirms that we are found in Christ, not having a righteousness of our own, but the righteousness that comes through faith.
Living in Christ as our righteousness involves daily trusting in His finished work rather than striving to establish our own righteousness. This transforms our relationship with God, as we rest in the sufficiency of Christ’s righteousness for our acceptance and service.
Thought of the day/Main points – Christ is our righteousness before God.
– Righteousness is not earned by works but received through faith.
– Living in Christ’s righteousness brings rest and freedom.
