Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
📖 Devotional Message
The Reflection:
The Christian life begins with a profound change in the source from which we live. Paul does not merely say that he has improved himself or become stronger; he declares, “I am crucified with Christ.” The cross deals with the old person who continually attempts to live independently of God, striving to accomplish spiritually what only Christ can accomplish. To be crucified with Christ is to recognize that our old way of living has been judged and terminated in His death. When we stop trying to establish ourselves as the source of victory, righteousness, strength, and spiritual life, we begin to discover the sufficiency of Christ Himself.
Practical Application:
Today, when you recognize your inability to overcome a particular weakness, do not immediately turn inward to manufacture strength. Bring the matter to the Lord and acknowledge, “Lord, I cannot live this life by myself; You are my life.”
