1 Corinthians 1:30 “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.”
We Christians are not just in Christ in a theoretical sense; we are in Him because God has placed us there. This is an important truth for us to understand as it relates to the anointing. When we are in Christ, we are in the Anointed One, and because of our union with Him, we are in the anointing itself.
In 1 John 2:27, it says that the anointing abides in us and teaches us all things. This teaching is not the kind of intellectual knowledge we receive from human teachers; rather, it is the divine revelation that comes through our abiding in the Anointed One. We have been placed in Him by God, and our responsibility is simply to remain there. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit unless it remains attached to the vine, we cannot experience the full benefits of the anointing unless we remain in Christ.
Abiding in Christ means more than just staying in a position of belief; it means being intimately united with Him, drawing our life from Him, and living in continual fellowship with Him. This is where the anointing flourishes, and where Christ’s life becomes real to us.
Main Points:
- In Christ, In the Anointing: God has placed us in Christ, and because of that, we are in the anointing.
- Abiding is Key: To experience the fullness of the anointing, we must abide in Christ.
- The Anointing Teaches Us: As we abide in Christ, the anointing teaches and reveals Christ’s wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption to us.
- Continual Fellowship with Christ: Abiding in Christ means living in constant fellowship with Him, drawing our life and strength from Him.
Reflection/Activity:
Reflect on what it means to abide in Christ. Are there areas of your life where you find it difficult to remain in Him? Pray for strength and guidance to remain in Christ, trusting that the anointing will teach you all things.
Prayer Confessions:
Thank You, Lord, for placing me in Christ, where I am one with You and share in Your anointing.
I pray that You would help me to remain abiding in You every day, drawing all my life from You.
Lord, continue to teach me through the anointing, revealing Your wisdom, righteousness, and sanctification in my life.
Help me to live in constant fellowship with You, and may Your life be manifested in me.
I commit to abiding in You, knowing that it is through You that I can bear much fruit, Amen.
