1 John 2:14 “I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.”
Abiding in the anointing is directly related to overcoming the wicked one. John writes to the young men, saying that because the word of God abides in them, they have overcome the wicked one. The anointing of the Holy Spirit enables us to live an overcoming life, a life that is victorious over the forces of darkness.
The anointing is the reality of God’s presence and power in our lives, and when we live under the anointing, we are empowered to overcome the temptations and attacks of the enemy. The key to overcoming is not relying on our strength but allowing the Holy Spirit to fight on our behalf. This overcoming life is not something we can accomplish by ourselves. We must abide in the anointing, continually drawing on the strength and power that the Spirit provides. As we do, we will experience victory over sin, the world, and the enemy.
