Devotional 147: No Need for Doctrinal Teaching – The Anointing is Sufficient

The anointing we have received from the Lord is not just a passive experience but an active force that teaches us directly. According to 1 John 2:27, the anointing teaches us all things and leads us into all truth. This means that while we benefit from human teaching, we are not dependent on it in the same way as the world is. The anointing, which is the indwelling Spirit of Christ, is our teacher.

This teaching is not just about doctrinal knowledge; it is about the deep, experiential revelation of Christ in us. The anointing enables us to know Christ personally, not just in a theoretical sense, but in the very depths of our being. This is why we do not need to rely on mere human teaching to know Christ; we can rely on the teaching of the Spirit within us.

The Spirit imparts to us the reality of Christ’s life and reveals His will to us.
The key to living in the anointing is to simply abide. Abiding means staying in the place where God has placed us—in Christ. As we stay in this place, the anointing teaches us, and we grow in the experience of Christ’s life.

Main Points
– The Anointing as Our Teacher: The anointing teaches us all things, leading us into the truth of Christ.
– Not Dependent on Doctrinal Teaching: While teaching is valuable, the anointing is the true teacher who reveals Christ to us.
– Experiential Revelation: The teaching of the anointing is about knowing Christ experientially, not just doctrinally.
– Abiding in the Anointing: To experience the teaching of the anointing, we must abide in Christ.

Reflection/Activity:
Reflect on the role of the anointing in your life. How does the Holy Spirit teach you? In what areas of your life can you rely more on the anointing to reveal Christ to you?

Prayer Points:
Lord, thank You for the anointing that teaches me all things and leads me into truth.
I pray that I would be sensitive to the teaching of the Holy Spirit in my life.
Lord, help me to rely on the anointing and not on human wisdom to know You more deeply.
May I continue to abide in You, trusting that the anointing will guide me into all things.
I ask that You would reveal Christ to me in deeper, experiential ways through the teaching of the anointing, Amen.
