Discerning the Mystery of Christ

Ephesians 3:4, “By which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ.”

đź“– Devotional Message

The Reflection:

There is a profound transmission that happens when we engage with the spiritual vision of those who have gone before us. Paul says that when we read, we can “perceive… understanding in the mystery of Christ.” The “mystery of Christ” is specifically the Church as His Body. Christ is the mystery of God, and the Church is the mystery of Christ. When our spiritual perception is sharpened, we stop seeing the local gathering as merely a group of flawed human beings. We begin to discern the mysterious, divine architecture that is being quietly woven through their lives.

Practical Application:

When you look at your local community today, look past the human flaws. Intentionally try to “perceive the mystery of Christ” hidden within their spirits.
