Living by the Faith of the Son of God

Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

📖 Devotional Message

The Reflection:

Galatians 2:20 does not teach us to become passive; it reveals a new source of living. Paul says, “the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God.” The believer still lives, walks, speaks, works, serves, prays, and makes decisions, but the source of this living has changed from independent self-effort to faith in the indwelling Christ. Faith is our opening to Him; it is the hand that receives His supply and the inward turning that allows His life to operate in us. As we trust Him, Christ becomes experiential rather than merely doctrinal—our faith becomes a daily participation in His life. This kind of living also produces something corporate: when every member learns to live by Christ rather than by self, the Body is supplied, strengthened, and built up through the life of Christ expressed in each believer.

Practical Application:
Do not measure today’s spiritual life by how strong you feel or how capable you think you are. Exercise faith in the Son of God throughout the day, trusting Him to be your sufficient life in every responsibility, difficulty, relationship, and ministry opportunity.

A Word for Today

The Lord is not asking you to produce a Christian life by your own strength. He has given you Christ Himself. The cross has dealt with the old source, and the indwelling Spirit brings Christ into your experience as the new source. Therefore, when you reach the end of yourself today, do not regard that weakness merely as a defeat; it can become an opportunity to discover that Christ is sufficient.
