John 6:63;
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
2 Corinthians 3:6;
who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Ephesians 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Jesus said, “The words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:63). The Spirit is the reality of the Word, making the written Word living and operative in us.
Without the Spirit, the Word remains mere letters, but with the Spirit, the Word becomes life to us (2 Corinthians 3:6). When we pray-read the Word with an open heart, the Spirit applies the riches of the Word to our being.
The Spirit transforms us through the Word and equips us with the sword of the Spirit for spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:17).
Main Points:
– The Spirit makes the Word living and life-giving.
– Pray-reading the Word allows the Spirit to work in us.
– The Spirit equips us with the Word for spiritual warfare.
Prayer Confessions:
Lord, make the Word living and operative in us by Your Spirit.
Teach us to pray-read the Word for deeper experiences of life.
Transform us through the Spirit of the Word.
Equip us with the sword of the Spirit for spiritual battles.
May the Word be our daily supply and defense, Amen.
