John 8:12; KJV
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
1 John 1:5-7; TPT
[5] This is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears. We now repeat his words to you: God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him. [6] If we claim that we share life with him, but keep walking in the realm of darkness, we’re fooling ourselves and not living the truth. [7] But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, continually cleanses us from all sin.
Ephesians 5:8-9, KJV
[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: [9] (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
In John 8:12, Jesus declared, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Christ as the light of life shines into our hearts, dispelling darkness and guiding us in the way of truth.
We always teach that light signifies God’s nature and His presence. To walk in the light means to live in fellowship with God, as stated in 1 John 1:5-7. When we abide in Him, His light exposes anything that separates us from Him and leads us to repentance and restoration.
Ephesians 5:8-9 reminds us that as children of light, we are to walk in goodness, righteousness, and truth. This requires daily contact with the Lord, allowing His light to shine through us to others.
Thought of the day/Main points – Christ is the light of life, illuminating our path.
