Devotional 155: The Crucified Life – A Life of Freedom

The crucified life is not a life of bondage but a life of true freedom. By crucifying the flesh with its passions and desires, we are released from the tyranny of sin and self. This freedom allows us to live according to the Spirit and walk in God’s will.

The flesh represents our old, fallen nature with its tendencies toward sin and self-centeredness. The cross deals decisively with the flesh, putting it to death so that we no longer have to be ruled by it. When we choose to live by the Spirit, we experience the joy and liberty of a life free from the control of the flesh.

Freedom in Christ does not mean living without restraint; it means living under the rule of the Spirit. This kind of life is characterized by peace, joy, and a deep sense of fulfillment. It is a life that glorifies God and blesses others.
