John 1:4-5; KJV
In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Ephesians 5:8-11; KJV
[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: [9] (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) [10] proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Psalm 27:1, KJV
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
John 1:4-5 declares, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” Christ as the light of life dispels all forms of darkness in our hearts and minds.
Ephesians 5:8-11 exhorts us to walk as children of light, exposing the works of darkness and manifesting what is good, righteous, and true. Psalm 27:1 proclaims, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” When we turn to the Lord as our light, He leads us out of fear and confusion into clarity and boldness.
Experiencing Christ as light involves staying in fellowship with Him and allowing His Word to shine within us. The more we abide in Him, the more His light overcomes the darkness in our being.
