Devotional 27: Christ as the Cornerstone of the Building

Ephesians 2:20 declares that Christ is the cornerstone of God’s building, the church. As the cornerstone, He holds the entire structure together and aligns all parts of the building to Himself.

Often we teach that Christ as the cornerstone is foundational to the church. 1 Peter 2:4-6 describes believers as living stones, being built up into a spiritual house. This building work requires that we are aligned with Christ, both individually and corporately.

Isaiah 28:16 promises that whoever believes in Him as the cornerstone will not be shaken. This assurance allows us to participate in God’s eternal purpose with confidence and stability.
