2 Corinthians 3:18; AMP
And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.
Romans 8:29; KJV
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Philippians 1:6, TPT
I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this gracious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Transformation is a life long process in which the Holy Spirit conforms us to the image of Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:18 reveals that as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into the same image from glory to glory. This transformation is accomplished by the Spirit and not by our own efforts.
We always teach that transformation is not outward conformity but an inward metabolic change, where Christ’s life replaces our old nature. Romans 8:29 states that God’s purpose is to conform us to the image of His Son.
Philippians 1:6 assures us that He who began a good work in us will complete it. Our role in this process is to cooperate with the Spirit by beholding Christ in His Word and yielding to His work in our lives.
Thought of the day/Main points – Transformation is a work of the Holy Spirit as we behold Christ.
– It involves an inward change, replacing the old nature with Christ’s life.
– God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in us.
