Devotional 17: Transformation by Renewing the Mind

Romans 12:2 calls us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Transformation begins with the mind because it governs our attitudes and decisions.

In our ministry we teach that renewing the mind is an ongoing process where the Spirit works through the Word to align our thoughts with God’s thoughts. Ephesians 4:23-24 speaks of being “renewed in the spirit of your mind” and putting on the new man, which is created according to God in righteousness and holiness.

As we behold the Lord in His Word, we are being transformed into His image from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). This transformation is not outward conformity but an inward change that affects our entire being, enabling us to live according to God’s will.

Thought of the day/Main point. – Transformation begins with the renewing of the mind.
– The Spirit uses the Word to align our thoughts with God’s.
– Beholding the Lord leads to inward transformation into His image.

Prayer Confessions:
Lord, renew my mind daily through Your Word and Spirit.
Transform me inwardly to align with Your will and purpose.
Enable me to live out Your righteousness and holiness in every area of life, Amen.
