2 Corinthians 3:18; KJV
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Romans 12:2; AMP
And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
Philippians 3:21, TPT
who will transform our humble bodies and transfigure us into the identical likeness of his glorified body. And using his matchless power, he continually subdues everything to himself.
The Christian life is one of transformation, and it is through the working of the Spirit that we are progressively conformed to the image of Christ. In 2 Corinthians 3:18, Paul writes, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.” This transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit in us, changing us from our natural, fallen state into the glorious image of Christ.
We always teach that transformation is the process by which God works in us to make us more like Christ. This transformation involves the renewing of our mind and the change of our inner being. As we turn to the Lord and allow Him to work in us, we are gradually freed from the old creation and brought into the new.
The goal of transformation is to bring us into the fullness of Christ. As Christ is formed in us, we become more like Him, and the glory of God is expressed through us. This transformation affects every aspect of our being—our mind, our emotions, our will, and our spirit. It is a continuous process that will ultimately be completed when Christ returns and we are fully conformed to His image.
Transformation is not just a matter of moral improvement; it is a divine, supernatural work of God in our spirit, soul, and body. It is through this transformation that we become living stones in God’s building and are fit to express His glory.
