Ephesians 2:22;TPT, This means that God is transforming each one of you into the Holy of Holies, his dwelling place, through the power of the Holy Spirit living in you!
1 Peter 2:5; AMP You [believers], like living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house for a holy and dedicated priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:18 MSG
You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.
God’s eternal purpose is not just to save individuals but to build a dwelling place for Himself. The church is God’s building, and He desires to dwell among His people. This building is not a physical structure but a spiritual house, constituted of living stones. In Ephesians 2:22, we read that “in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.” The church, as the house of God, is the place where God’s presence is manifested and where His glory is expressed.
The building of the church is not a work of human effort; it is a work of God, accomplished through the life of Christ in His believers. We always emphasize that the church is built through the proper function of every member, who, by the life of Christ, builds up the Body in love.
For the church to be built up, we must be unified, and this unity comes from Christ Himself. It is through Christ’s life in each member that we are brought together to form the church. Every believer is a vital part of God’s building. As we always teach, the church is a corporate entity, and each member plays a role in the construction of the building. The church is not an institution; it is a living body, built through the life of Christ and the Spirit.
Just as a building requires materials that are living and fit for the structure, so the church is made up of believers who are living stones, being built up in the faith. As we are transformed into the image of Christ, we become more fit for God’s building and more useful for His purpose.
